With the acquisition of Koi-Breeder AG, Wellgarden AG is investing in an established Swiss company specialising in koi breeding, sturgeon trading, and pond and garden supplies
Wellgarden is acquiring Koi-Breeder with effect from 1 January 2026. This marks the successful implementation of the succession plan by Mr and Mrs Wyss, the company’s founders and previous owners. The current managing director, Roger Wüst, will remain in his post, all employees will be retained, and all customer relationships and processes will continue unchanged. The property required for operations will also be sold as part of the transaction and transferred to Wellgarden
“With the acquisition of Koi-Breeder, we are expanding our platform to include a company with an established market position and an experienced team. Koi-Breeder is a perfect fit with our focus on owner-managed specialists in the outdoor and wellness sector. We look forward to supporting the company’s further development in the long term,” says Reto Eigenmann, owner of Wellgarden
Roger Wyss adds: “I am delighted to have found a new owner and entrepreneur in Wellgarden and Reto Eigenmann, who will continue to run Koi-Breeder at its existing location in Schinznach-Dorf. We deliberately initiated the succession planning process at an early stage – this solution secures the long-term future for employees, customers and business partners.”
Ramus & Company supported and advised Koi-Breeder and the sellers as part of an exclusive sell-side mandate throughout all phases of the M&A process until the successful completion of the succession arrangement
