Odewald KMU, the Germany-based private equity firm, from its Odewald KMU II fund has acquired a majority stake in AMT Schmid GmbH & Co. KG, a Germany-based producer of electric motors, gearboxes, electromagnetic brakes and special drive units.
The acquisition of AMT Schmid is in line with Odewald’s strategy of expanding its portfolio with a specialist manufacturer of electric and other components. The acquistion will enable AMT to further expand the company's international presence and production capacity at the Sauldorf location. AMT employs 150 people at the company's location in Sauldorf (Baden-Wuerttemberg)
